The Good Place
A temporary concept space integrating hospitality, retail, and wellness.
Inspired by harmony and nature, a place to gather, recharge and reset.
The Good Place was a unique temporary concept in Alès, France. The design was a concept place: a café-restaurant with healthy food, a yoga studio, and a shop in a pleasant and atypical place. The design was inspired by the owner’s travels, and we wanted to create a space where you can recharge in a natural and harmonious environment.
The Execution: The challenge lay in zoning an expansive industrial volume to accommodate three distinct functions: dining, shopping, and movement, without losing a sense of intimacy. Our studio handled the full lifecycle of the project, from initial programming to construction documentation and custom furniture design.
Design Philosophy: We paired cold industrial elements with a “warm-minimalist” palette. The centerpiece of the design is the interplay of light and greenery; the vegetation acts as a dynamic architectural element. Custom-commissioned murals provide a focal point that anchors the space’s identity.
